About Brains For AI Africa
Brains for AI Africa (BFAI) is an international NGO committed to making AI education more accessible, relevant and sustainable.
Founded in 2023, BFAI began by creating opportunities for young people, educators and professionals to develop AI knowledge and practical skills. Through our learning programmes and collaborations with educational institutions, we have worked to broaden participation in AI education, particularly in communities with limited access to resources and opportunities.
As our work has evolved, we have recognised that expanding access to AI education requires more than delivering individual training programmes. It also requires strengthening the institutions responsible for teaching, developing and sustaining AI learning opportunities.
Today, we are building on that experience by working with educational institutions to explore curriculum integration, educator development and long-term capacity building. Our aim is to help institutions develop the capabilities to deliver relevant AI education independently and adapt as the technology evolves.
Rooted in Africa and guided by an international vision, BFAI seeks to contribute to a future where individuals and institutions have the knowledge, resources and opportunities to participate meaningfully in an AI-enabled world.
